OUR PROCESS

what to expect as one of our patients

BEFORE

Once you have set up your initial New Patient visit, an email link will be sent to you that will allow you to fill out initial paperwork. The office will be notified when you complete this paperwork and we will reach out to you if any further information is needed.

If you are unable to complete this paperwork before your visit. please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled visit. Hard copy paperwork is available in the clinic if you are unable to complete the paperwork online.

We give a complimentary call 1 business day prior to New Patient visits to discuss any outstanding questions or concerns along with giving proper instruction of how to find our clinic.

DURING

Each initial visit begins with  your clinician taking a detailed health history. This will include questions regarding the reason for your visit, any past injuries or surgeries, all current medications and supplements, and information regarding any previous treatment. If you have had any X-rays or MRIs taken, we encourage you to bring those records if possible.

Throughout the examination, our clinicians use a combination of specialized tests and functional evaluation to determine which tissues are effected. You will be moving throughout your visit, so comfortable clothing is recommended. Once your injuries have been explained and treatment options for your specific health goals have been discussed, you will be provided with treatment in the same initial appointment.

The duration of initial appointments is typically one hour. Treatments may include manual therapy, instrument assisted soft tissue release, cupping, acupuncture, chiropractic adjustments, and take home exercises with instruction. We encourage the main area of complaint be available to skin on skin contact if possible and current running shoes brought to the visit if you are a runner.

AFTER

Our clinicians use well researched, patient specific exercises. We use a combination of videos or photos taken during your first appointment and at home care instructions. This may include heat or ice instructions, avoidance of certain activities or movements, and home stretches or exercises.

Treatment recommendations including follow-up care will be discussed with your provider. If you have any outstanding questions, we are best reached via email and respond within a 24 hour window. We believe in continual communication. As care proceeds and health goals change from visit to visit, we want our patients to motivated to the pursuit of your goals and know that we are motivated to assist you in achieving those goals.

FAQ

frequently asked questions

What is treatment like?

Treatment is 1-on-1 and hands-on with your provider every visit. We spend 1-hour with our New Patients and at least 20-minutes with follow up appointments. With our progressive and global approach to care, we are constantly reassessing and evaluating progress of your condition to ensure goals are being met.

How many visits does it typically take to resolve my condition?

Our treatment plans are typically 5-10 visits over a 4-6 week periods. We jump start your recovery with hands on care in the office and give you the tools needed to propel your recovery forward in the form of active home care. Once pain free, we encourage our patients to continue their exercises at home. A “clean up” is occasionally needed as normal stresses, active lifestyle training and as various injuries occur.

Do I need a referral?

No, you do not need a referral to see any of our providers.

Are you going to crack me? What if I don't want cracked?

Not all injuries indicate the need for an adjustment, which is why we offer many other therapies in our office. If you do not want to be adjusted or are afraid to be adjusted, we can use a variety of other tools to get the results needed for your condition. An adjustment is used to get joint segments that are not moving well to move better. When a joint is not moving properly, it can cause other joints to have to move excessively to make up for the stuck joint, which can lead to pain and injury.

Why should I go to you before seeing my medical doctor for my joint or muscle pain?

While medical doctors help with many problems/diagnosis, most do not have training in conservative care treatments of joint and muscle pain. Our providers will classify your pain and apply appropriate treatment for your condition. If further diagnostic testing or treatment is needed, we can refer you to the appropriate provider.

Will you X-ray me?

We are a movement based practice therefore do not have an X-ray machine in our office. While a static photo may be needed in the case of a traumatic fall or in the case of specific positive orthopedic testing, we utilize screens to assess how you are dynamically moving to propel you forward to full recovery.

Do you accept my insurance?

We are an out of network chiropractic office. Due to the large tool box of techniques we utilize, many of our extremely effective therapies will not be covered by your insurance. To keep the cost to you down and allow our providers the ability to focus on giving you the best care possible, we use flat fees in our office. We are able to provide you with a superbill which you can use to submit out of network coverage to insurance. Please call for more information.

Can I use my Health Spendings Account (HSA) or Flex Spending Card?

Yes. If your HSA needs a superbill or itemized receipt, we will be more than happy to provide this.
